Edison and Ford Winter Estates
Edison and Ford Winter Estates is a museum and popular spot to visit in Fort Myers. The property is a National Register Historic Site, dating back to 1885, and opened to the public in 1947.
The estates were once a winter retreat for Thomas Edison and his family. In the 1910s, Henry Ford and his family purchased an adjacent property for their own estate for the winter months.
There are plenty of things to do at Edison and Ford Winter Estates, including viewing the historic homes and exploring 20 acres of botanical gardens.
The Edison Ford Museum is another must-visit attraction. The informative exhibits about the famous inventors’ successes are educational and interesting.

Lovers Key State Park
This state park is currently operating for limited day use.
Lovers Key State Park is the perfect place for nature lovers to visit on a trip to Fort Myers Beach.
Located amongst the Gulf Coast’s barrier islands, the park contains beaches, mangrove forests, and waterways.
Visitors can enjoy shelling along the beach, hiking through the park’s trails, or paddling through mangrove protected estuary.

Downtown Fort Myers River District

Fort Myers Beach Farmers Market at Times Square
Times Square was a great place to shop in Fort Myers Beach before Hurricane Ian destroyed the area in September 2022.
Located in the downtown area of Estero Island, the town of Fort Myers Beach is making lots of progress towards bringing Time Square back to life.
The return of the Fort Myers Beach Farmers Market is a great step in the recovery process. It’s open every Friday from 9 am to 1 pm.
A new clock was recently unveiled, which was one of the signature elements of Times Square.
