Lithia Springs Conservation Park (also known as Lithia Springs Regional Park and Lithia Springs County Park) is a natural area maintained by Hillsborough County.

The park’s main attraction is its second-magnitude spring, which discharges millions of gallons of water daily into the Alafia River.

Things to Do at Lithia Springs

There are many things to do in the 160-acre Lithia Springs Park. The popular swimming area is a must-visit for many. Swimmers can bask in the spring’s clean water, a consistent 72 degrees year-round.

Nearby Alafia River Canoe Rentals offers canoe and kayak rentals for those who want to experience canoeing or kayaking on the river.

Hiking trails within the park take hikers through natural areas where they can see a variety of lush vegetation, like cabbage palms, live oaks, sand pines, and hardwood hammocks.

The FishHawk Creek Nature Trail has a trailhead within the park and takes hikers through the FishHawk Creek Nature Preserve. The path extends about four miles before transitioning into a circular trail.

The park also has a playground and picnic area, which is a great place for families to relax and play before or after swim time.

Nestled amongst the oak trees, Lithia Springs has a quiet campground with 45 camping sites. Most sites are suitable for RV camping and include amenities like potable water, electric hook-ups, fire pits, and access to a dump station.

There is also a bathhouse located in each of the two sections of the campgrounds.

TIPS:

  • Lithia Springs is open daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in the spring and summer and from 8 am to 6 pm in the fall and winter.
  • One of the most important things to remember is that maximum capacity is often reached on the weekends – plan to arrive early.
  • The swim area closes one hour before the park closing.
  • Entrance fees are $2 per vehicle for up to 8 people (as of July 2023).
  • There is a separate fee of $2 per person for those who wish to swim in the spring, as well as two time slots to choose from: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (as of February of 2024). An adult must accompany children 12 years old and under. 
  • Camping fees are $24 per night. Discounts are offered for parties with an adult 55 and older or 65 and older and a Hillsborough County resident.
  • Picnic tables, picnic shelters, grills, and parking are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Brunchery is a restaurant that is located 3 miles away from Lithia Springs. It has been in the Tampa area since 1988. As its name suggests, the Bruchery serves the best brunch around.

The restaurant was voted Best Breakfast & Best Brunch from Clipper Magazine’s 2019 Best of Tampa Bay and Best Brunch in 2020.

This restaurant boasts a large menu with many options to choose from. If you want something healthier, try an egg white omelet or scramble, whole wheat French toast, oatmeal, or a Yogurt Granola Fruit Parfait.

Breakfast favorites include delicious Strawberry Stuffed French Toast and Country Skillets served with hash browns and a biscuit. Other dishes include crepes, French toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, eggs benedict, and quiche.

If you want something on the lunch menu, you can choose from any of the Brunchery’s salads or the day’s soup. You can’t go wrong with wraps or sandwiches served with potato salad, coleslaw, or chips.

TIPS:

  • The Brunchery is open daily from 7:30 am to 2 pm. 
  • This restaurant is very popular. Visit earlier in the day for shorter wait times.
