There are a lot of great things to do in Kissimmee, Florida. The Central Florida city is approximately 20 miles south of Downtown Orlando and 10 miles northwest of St. Cloud.

    Downtown Kissimmee is full of exciting things to do. Shopping, dining, historic sites, and local events can all be found in this area.

    The Kissimmee Valley Farmers Market is held on the first Friday of every month from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and the third Saturday from 2 pm to 6 pm.

    The market hosts vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, art, home décor, and more.

    As you walk through Downtown Kissimmee, you can see various art.

    There is a Mural Experience and a Sculpture Experience to view. Each experience wonderfully displays the creativity and vibrancy that exists in this town.

    Shingle Creek Regional Park

    If you want to explore the great outdoors while in Kissimmee, Shingle Creek Regional Park is the place to go. This park is part of the Headwaters of the Florida Everglades and offers a lot of things to do. 

    Activities like birdwatching and fishing are popular at this park.

    Explore the area on the Shingle Creek Regional Trail, a multi-use trail that takes visitors through scenic, natural areas.

    While in the park, check out the Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek.

    Pioneer Village is a collection of buildings from before modern times that give visitors a glimpse of what life was like for early Osceola settlers. 

    TIPS:

    • Shingle Creek Regional Park is open daily. 
    • Pioneer Village is open daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Closed on major holidays.
    • Admission to Pioneer Village is $8 for adults and $4 for children 4-12. Children under four years old are admitted for free.

    Green Meadows Petting Farm (Temporarily Closed)

    Green Meadows Petting Farm has been in the Orlando area for 27 years.

    The farm is known as a great spot for the whole family to meet farm animals like horses, cows, sheep, and more.

    Green Meadows is moving from its old location on Poinciana Boulevard to Kissimmee’s Lancaster Ranch Park.

    The 150-acre park is a natural space that will be situated between Shingle Creek and Downtown Kissimmee.

    Portillo’s

    Portillo’s is a Chicago street food chain that began in 1963. The restaurant chain is known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, cheese fries, and Italian beef sandwiches, amongst other dishes. 

    This Midwest favorite has made its way to Orlando, opening a location in Doctor Phillips and, most recently, in Kissimmee.

    The Chocolate Cake Shake is a fan favorite, blending a slice of chocolate cake into a milkshake for an indulgent treat.
