Visiting Lake Eola Park is one of the best free things to do in Orlando. Located in Downtown Orlando, the park provides a lovely view of the city skyline.

Lake Eola Park is open late and has a 0.9-mile sidewalk that loops around the lake – the perfect place for an evening stroll!

The park’s iconic fountain is lit up in the middle of the lake after dark.

The park often hosts different outdoor events like festivals and movies in the park, so make sure to see if there will be anything going on during your visit.

Unfortunately, the iconic Swan Boats are open during the day and close a little after dusk, but they should not be missed. It’s a great way to kick off a memorable evening.

Usually, the gardens are only open during the day, but typically once a month, they host a movie night.

Leu Gardens Movie Night is typically held once a month, with the gardens opening at 6 pm and the movie starting at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 4-17 years of age. Children under 3 years of age need to have a free ticket. Admission is free for Leu Members.

ICON Park is at the heart of the Orlando Entertainment District (Warning: It’s also the Land of Tourists and Convention Attendees).

Located on International Drive, ICON Park is known for attractions like Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium and The Wheel at ICON Park.

There are tons of shops and restaurants within the park that are open late, making this a great spot to enjoy the Orlando nightlife.

The can’t-miss experience here is The Wheel at ICON Park. It is an observation wheel that takes you 400 feet up over the city for stunning views of Central Florida.

This is THE place to go to see an aerial view of Orlando at night, especially on New Year’s Eve.

If you time it right, you might even be able to see fireworks displays in the distance from nearby theme parks.

People-Watch at a Local Attraction with a Booming Nightlife

There are so many great places to people-watch in Orlando.

At night, a couple of notable places to visit are Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort and Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort because they have such an active nightlife.

The best way to people-watch at these places is to find an outdoor bar or lounge with a good view. Then, sit back and enjoy one of our favorite hobbies – people-watching!

Universal CityWalk is a section of Universal Orlando Resort that is full of shops and restaurants.

You don’t need a ticket to the theme parks to enter this section. Self-parking is free most nights after 6 pm at the Universal parking garages.

Universal CityWalk is typically open Sunday through Thursday from 8 am to 12 am and Friday and Saturday from 8 am to 1 am. However, hours vary seasonally, so make sure you check before your visit.

Disney Springs

Disney Springs is part of the Walt Disney World Resort property. There are many shops and restaurants to enjoy here at night. There’s also a bowling alley and movie theaters.

No ticket is required. Plus, there’s free self-parking. There is also access to a few of the area resorts via boat.

Sometimes if the restaurant is full, you can eat in the bar (which is what we did at Morimoto’s).
