Charlie’s Bakery and Creamery

Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery is the perfect place to indulge your sweet tooth. This great spot opened in 1971 and is located in Orlando’s Hourglass District.

The selection of delicious desserts here is so great – you can’t go wrong with anything you choose.

Charlie’s Bakery and Creamery is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Buttermilk Bakery

Buttermilk Bakery is a top-choice bakery in the Central Florida area.

Located in Winter Park, this small-batch bakery is a local favorite. They make an assortment of sweet and savory pastries that you can’t go wrong with any selection.

You will find a variety of baked goods options with every visit. Each day, the bakery menu goes live at 8 am.

Our personal favorites are the Salty Malty Cookie, a chewy, crispy, chocolatey treat (and contender for best cookie) and the decadent Chocolate Orange Tea Cake, a small cake with a lovely combination of dark chocolate and orange zest.

TIPS:

  • Buttermilk Bakery is open Wednesday through Friday from 8 am to 2 pm; and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm.
  • The small bakery does not have seating inside, but there are tables outside where you can enjoy your baked goods.
  • Online ordering is available for same-day pick-up.

Gideon’s Bakehouse

Gideon’s Bakehouse is a bakery with two locations in Orlando – one in East End Market (Audubon Park Garden District) and one in Disney Springs.

The original Gideon’s location is its small space in East End Market, a cool food hall in the Audubon Park Garden District. 

This popular spot is known for its spooky Victorian-era theming and its nearly half-pound cookies. Yes, you read that correctly.

Every month, Gideon’s has a new featured cookie. Some cookie favorites include Dark Coffee Cake, Cookies & Cream, and Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip.

TIPS:

  • Gideon’s Bakehouse (East End Market) is open daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
  • Gideon’s Bakehouse (Disney Springs) is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm; and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm.
  • The Disney Springs location gets especially busy on evenings and weekends. Arrive early to secure a spot in the queue.

Sun Pearl Bakery

Sun Pearl Bakery is a family-owned Taiwanese bakery located in Orlando’s Chinatown. This authentic place opened in 2004 and has been making incredible bakery items ever since.

On the menu, you are a variety of sweet and savory Taiwanese pastries, as well as boba tea. 

Moon cakes are a personal favorite, coming in options like Green Tea, Black Sesame, and Taro.

Sun Pearl is also known for its delicious cookies and its special occasion cakes, which can be ordered in advance online or by phone.

  • Sun Pearl Bakery is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • Make sure to bring cash with you. This bakery doesn’t accept credit or debit cards.

Mecatos Bakery & Cafe is a small Columbian bakery now with several locations in the Orlando area.

Established in 2015, this spot serves a variety of baked goods as well as tasty salads and sandwiches.

Valhalla Bakery is one of our favorite vegan spots in Orlando. Located in East Orlando, this is the best bakery to check out for plant-based treats.

Behind the bakery case, you can find a delicious selection of cupcakes, cookies, and bars. You can custom order pies and special cakes, as well.

It’s all delicious, but you can’t go wrong with the guava cheesecake, carrot cake, and the lemon cupcake.

  • Valhalla Bakery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Sister Honey’s is another one of Orlando’s best bakeries.

Located in SoDo Orlando, Sister Honey’s was awarded the Critic’s Choice for Best Bakery in the Orlando Sentinel’s 24th Annual Foodie Awards.

We’re partial to the bakery’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcakes. Sister Honey’s has perfected this classic treat with a moist chocolate cake and rich peanut butter frosting.
