Goofy Golf – 3 Locations in the Panhandle
Any Goofy Golf visit is a wonderful retro experience that transports you to a past era.
There are three Goofy Golfs to enjoy in the Panhandle. They can be found in Panama City Beach, Fort Walton Beach, and Pensacola (i.e., First Tee Gulf Coast).
Goofy Golf – Panama City Beach
Undoubtedly, the most famous Goofy Golf is located in Panama City Beach. It has been open since 1959.
This family-owned attraction has two 18-hole miniature golf courses to experience.
Advertised as “mini golf with a bonus play-land,” Goofy Golf has giant statues on its courses. Some you can climb inside.
Visit this kitschy wonderland if you find yourself in Northwest Florida.

Goofy Golf – Fort Walton Beach
The Fort Walton Beach Goofy Golf is the oldest surviving Goofy Golf. It opened in 1958.
It’s definitely worth visiting. It’s very retro and fun, fun, fun.

Historic Pensacola Goofy Golf (First Tee Golf Course)
This mini-golf course in Pensacola is unique and kitschy. It originally opened in 1958 and has fun, oversized retro characters like a dinosaur, brown bear, Humpty Dumpty, and lots more.
Plus, it’s affordable, and the staff is super friendly.
Summer Hours: 11 am – 5 pm, Wednesday & Thursday; 10 am – 7 pm, Friday & Saturday; 1 pm – 5 pm, Sunday.

Polynesian Putter
Polynesian Putter is located on St. Petersburg Beach across the street from the gulf. The 18-hole, retro-themed golf course originally opened in 1966.
The style of the place hasn’t changed much since its original opening. You will find large, distinct décor at this timeless miniature golf course.
The two main draws are the spotted, coiled snake and large, retro Easter Island-style moai. It’s not fancy, but it’s fun.

Flashback: Tiki Gardens
Do you remember Tiki Gardens in Indian Rocks Beach? The Easter Island moai reminds us of the Water God from this old Florida roadside attraction north of Polynesian Putter in Indian Rocks Beach.
At its peak, the 12-acre Tiki Gardens included several gift shops and a “south seas” themed garden with exotic birds and monkeys. There was also the Trader Frank’s Restaurant.
In 1986, the original owners sold the property to foreign investors, who eventually sold it to Pinellas County in 1990. It’s now a beach-access parking lot.

UFO’s Pensacola Beach
Pensacola Beach is home to a cosmic mini-golf course that features 18 holes. It’s called UFO’s Mini Golf, Ice Cream & Arcade.
The course offers a good mix of various terrains and difficulties. It’s also extremely well-maintained, and the misting fans help keep you cool in the heat of the summer.

Boyett’s Citrus Attraction Mini Golf
Boyett’s Citrus Attraction is located in Brooksville, a part of Florida’s Adventure Coast. The large attraction began as a fruit stand in the 1960s.
Today, Boyett’s includes a wildlife park, dinosaur cave, aviary, aquarium, and mini-golf.
The 18-hole indoor-outdoor course adds a bunch of family fun to your experience.
Stop at the ice cream parlor and the gift shop after your game to have a great time.

Bonanza Golf & Gifts is a Wild West-themed miniature golf course that opened in the 1980s in Kissimmee.
The Central Florida attraction takes you back to the Old West, with old mines, cliffs, and water features around you as you navigate the courses.
Bonanza has two courses: “Prospector” and “Gold Nugget.” Try them both to experience all this place has to offer.

Although we don’t typically cover Disney stories, these mini golf courses are off the beaten path and are a fraction of the price you’d pay to visit one of the main Disney theme parks.
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf – 2 Different Experiences
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf is themed after Disney’s Fantasia movies. Each mini golf location offers two themed, 18-hole courses to play. One is traditional, while the other is whimsical.
Fantasy Fairways Miniature Golf
The Fantasy Fairways is popular with regular golf enthusiasts who mean serious business since it’s more of a mini traditional golf course.
There are sand traps, bunkers, water hazards, and long-sloping greens.
Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf Course
Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course is a whimsical, family-friendly option.
It hits the target with its theming, twisting obstacles, dancing fountains, and music.

The only remaining Original Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf in Florida is on International Drive in Orlando.
It’s a pirate-themed adventure golf course voted “Best in Florida” by Orlando Magazine.
Although not an old Florida retro mini golf course, it’s a fun one, nonetheless.
Play one of the courses, from “Captain’s Course” to “Blackbeard’s Challenge,” or play them back-to-back with the “36-hole Adventure.”
The tropical miniature golf course includes a sunken pirate ship and dungeons and a beautiful landscape of tranquil waterfalls and plants.
