Looking for Florida Earth Day events? We’ve got you covered.
But first, let’s get real: Every day should be Earth Day, especially in Florida.
However, at least a designated day, week, and month focus on celebrating and protecting Planet Earth.
Did you know Earth Day was officially founded by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson on April 22, 1970? It was birthed as a day of education about environmental issues.
On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans filled the streets and parks to demonstrate a healthy environment.
It made such an impact that important federal environmental laws emerged, including the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.
Today, Earth Day events showcase a plethora of educational and practical activities focused on green living.
