As another year closes, you may look for the best place to celebrate New Year’s Eve events in Florida. to ring in the New Year across the Sunshine State.
Our goal is to help you decide where you want to be. Florida has many fun and unique New Year’s Eve events happening this year.
If going out is your thing, many of these exciting festivities are family-friendly and include live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show.
We’ve gathered a list of our favorite New Year’s Eve celebrations taking place around the state.
These distinctive Florida events involve unique drops such as shrimp, pineapple, oranges, drag queens, beach balls, and more.
Entertaining options are everywhere, so don’t be afraid to pack up and hit the road to say goodbye to the old year and ring in 2024!

Northwest Florida
The New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop – Panama City Beach
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, Family-friendly party starts at 5:35 pm; 10,000 beach ball drop for kids at 8:00 pm and one of the world’s largest beach balls drops at 12:00 am.
Where: Pier Park, 600 Pier Park Dr., Panama City Beach, FL 32413
More information: Panama City Beach’s popular Pier Park closes its streets to traffic and opens them up for one of Northwest Florida’s favorite annual events.
The event includes free live music (5:35 pm: Saved by the 90’s, 8:20 pm: Will Thompson Band, and 10:00 pm: The Life Atlantic), food vendors, and fun activities for the entire family.
The New Year’s Eve celebration has two beach ball drops – the one at 8:00 pm is geared toward kids.
The first countdown ends with the release of 10,000 beach balls on S. Pier Park Drive, followed by a fireworks display.
The party continues …, and at midnight, it’s time for celebration number two: a giant beach ball drops, and more spectacular fireworks are launched from the end of Russell-Fields Pier.

Harborwalk Village New Year’s Eve – Destin
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am.
Where: Harborwalk Village, 10 Harbor Blvd, Destin, Florida 32541
More information: Enjoy live entertainment while counting down to the new year. The main stage features Strange Boy and The New Royals.

Bicentennial New Year’s Eve Countdown Downtown – Tallahassee
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

This big event includes a free concert, food trucks, and two spectacular fireworks shows.

New Year’s Eve Dance Party – Gainesville
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 7:00 pm until 2:00 am.
Where: Heartwood Soundstage, 619 South Main St., Gainesville, FL 32601
More Information: The 2nd Annual New Year’s Eve Dance Party is a great New Year’s Eve event to attend in Gainesville.
The event kicks off after the fireworks end at Depot Park (7:00 pm). Bingo Deli and Humble Woodfire are open during their regular hours.
The party brings Miami’s favorite DJ, DJ A-Train, to Heartwood Stage for an epic night of dancing to ring in the new year.
There’s a free bubbly toast for everyone at midnight.

Northeast Florida
New Year’s Eve Shrimp Drop – Fernandina Beach
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach (Centre & Front Streets in Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034 – Marina Parking Lot B)

The family-friendly event takes place at the Downtown Waterfront.
The festivities include party favors, the dropping of a giant LED-lighted shrimp, music, a laser show, and food + non-food vendors.
All of this plus a fabulous fireworks display. It’s guaranteed to be a great time for all attendees!
Just be sure to bundle up. It can be very cold in Northeast Florida.

New Year’s Eve Celebration – Downtown Jacksonville
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, with fireworks starting at midnight.
Where: Downtown Jacksonville
More Information: This year’s fireworks display takes place over the St. Johns River.
They launch from a barge between the Hyatt and DoubleTree hotels and atop the Acosta Bridge.
Spectators can enjoy the show from multiple vantage points in Downtown Jacksonville, including both the north and south banks.
The Brooklyn area and beneath the Fuller Warren Bridge, where the Riverside Arts Market is located, are also good spots to watch the show.
The fireworks are set to commence at midnight, welcoming the arrival of 2024.
The event is free to attend.

Light up the NIGHT! New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show – St. Augustine Beach
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, shuttle pick up begins at 5:00 pm, fireworks start at 8:30 pm.
Where: St. Johns County Ocean Pier, 350 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080
More Information: The dazzling fireworks display illuminates the sky above the St. Johns County Ocean Pier.
Spectators can enjoy the show from three prime locations along A1A Beach Boulevard: directly at the St. Johns County Ocean Pier, on A Street, and on 10th Street.
Look for signs at Pier Park and along A1A Beach Blvd indicating viewing areas.
Keep your eyes open for No Beach Access signs in areas inaccessible due to the recent storms. This includes no beach access from Pier Park, and 12th through 15th Streets.

Central West Florida
Light It Up Clearwater – Clearwater Beach
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, starting at midnight.

This kid-friendly event is a must-visit place for families to watch fireworks.
This year’s firework display takes place on the most northern part of Sand Key Park.
The best viewing area is the southern part of Clearwater Beach but the fireworks are visible along the beach!

Under the Stars New Year’s Eve Party 2024 – 21+ Event
Usher in 2024, “Under The Stars” at Shephard’s Tiki Beach, The Wave Nightclub, and Soak Pool Lounge.
All three venues are included with one ticket, providing a waterfront, up-close view of the Clearwater Beach Fireworks display.

New Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop Block Party – Sarasota
When: Saturday, December 30, from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 am (Monday)
Where: Lemon Avenue and Main Street in downtown Sarasota
More information: Forget watching a ball drop. In Sarasota, you can join others celebrating the new year by watching a pineapple drop.
This well-loved event is a must attend if you want a unique way to ring in the new year.
The activities include a carnival, outdoor live performances and, of course, the traditional Pineapple Drop New Year countdown with fireworks over Sarasota Bay.
Enjoy live music performances by Top 10 country artist Chas Collins, 22N dance band, and SRQ Beats DJ.
The event is free and open to the public.
The carnival rides require tickets, which can be bought for $1.50 a piece or in sets of 20 for $30 or 50 for $60.

The Heights District Annual Noon Year’s Eve – Tampa / Armature Works
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

New Year’s Eve Events At Boxi Park – Lake Nona / Orlando

New Year’s Eve Midnight Kiss at ICEBAR – Orlando

It is the largest ice bar in the world, with over 70 tons of ice and hand-carved ice sculptures.

More information: Keeping in line with our love of tropical fruits, Downtown Sarasota will celebrate the new year by dropping a giant glowing pineapple at midnight!
But that’s not all – this giant block party will be starting at 1 pm and running until 1 am. Catch DJs, live bands, carnival rides, kid’s activities, and plenty of food and drink options.
After the pineapple drop, there will be some stunning fireworks over Sarasota Bay.

Southeast Florida
New Year’s Eve Shoe Drop – Key West
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, at midnight.
Where: 724 Duval St, Key West, FL 33040
More information: If you are looking for something unique to do on New Year’s Eve, head down to Duval Street in Key West for the annual Red Shoe Drop (that’s what the locals dubbed it).
This event is free and open to the public. It features a new drag queen this year. Sushi, a renowned drag queen, retired last year after a 25-year run.
The new drag queen is lowered from the Bourbon Street Pub complex’s balcony in a giant red high heel at midnight.
You never know what else you might see descending in the southernmost island city!
Key West is ground zero for offbeat drops, including a pirate wench, a giant Key lime wedge, a conch shell, a guitar, and a flight attendant.

Sloppy Joe’s 30th Conch Shell Countdown to 2024 – Key West
When: Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 am.

More information: Just down the street from the Red Shoe Drop, Sloppy Joe’s hosts its 30th Annual Dropping of the Conch Shell.
The event starts with live music at noon. At midnight, spectators can watch a large, man-made conch shell drop on lower Duval Street at midnight.
If you can’t make it in person, a LIVE Stream begins from Sloppy Joe’s Roof Top at 11:00 pm (EST) with host DJ Sanaris and a pre-countdown performance by Mike Stack & D-Lew.

This year marks the return of the 20,000-pound, 20-foot-high Big Orange outside the Hotel InterContinental near Bayfront Park.
