    Cypress Preserve Park

    This park was created from an ecological restoration of publicly-owned natural lands that Broward County was able to use for a passive recreation park.

    Cypress Preserve has plenty of fun for the whole family including a disk golf course, exercise stations, and a splash pad for the kids.

    Dauer Museum of Classic Cars

    Reminisce on the days gone by at the Dauer Museum of Classic Cars in Sunrise, Florida.

    This historical museum started as a hobby of Eddie and Joanne Dauer and has now grown into a car museum that pays homage to the history of the automobile.

    They opened their doors officially in 2001, and today you can see over 55 classic cars from the 1930s to the 1970s.

    Fox Observatory

    Located on the grounds of Markham Park, the Fox Observatory is a great place to see the stars and planets.

    Dr. Joseph Dennison Fox retired with his wife in the 1960s. He brought with him a telescope that has been restored and is still at the observatory today.

    The South Florida Amateur Astronomers Association runs the observatory.

    On Saturdays, the observatory is open to the public from sunset until midnight.

    One of the best places to eat in Sunrise is the cozy Kinghead British Pub, where they serve traditional British food and drinks.

    The menu has over 60 ales, lagers, ciders, and stouts from Great Britain as well as a few local breweries.

    The Tudor-style atmosphere almost makes you forget you’re in Florida.

    Markham Park

    If you’re looking for fun things to do in Sunrise, Florida, and love nature, look no further than Markham Park.

    There is enough to do at the park to entertain the whole family for a full day.

    On 669 acres, you find mountain bike trails, campgrounds, a radio-controlled airplane field, jogging trails, fishing and boating areas.

    There are also sports fields, nature trails, a butterfly garden, an archery range, and more!

    Sawgrass Sanctuary Park

    Home of Sunrise’s annual Earth Day Festival and the Woofstock Festival, Sawgrass Sanctuary is a 20-acre park and learning center.

    The park earned the city of Sunrise’s “America’s Crown Communities” award from American City & County Magazine.

    The amenities include an observation platform, fishing pier, and 200-foot boardwalk.

    There are also walking paths and interpretive displays teaching visitors about the park’s native ecosystems.

    Sawgrass Mills Outlet Shopping Mall

    Sawgrass Mills Mall is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It offers a comprehensive shopping, dining, and entertainment experience.

    It’s located 30 minutes from Miami International Airport and 15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale International Airport (unless there’s extra traffic).

    Sawgrass Mills is divided into three parts: the Main Mall, the Oasis, and the Colonnade Outlets.
